WHAT IS L.E.P.

L.E.P. or Light Emitting Plasma.

LEP bulbs are capable of intense light output; the system we use can produce 140 plus lumens per watt. In contrast Tungsten Halogen bulbs produce 15 lumens per watt and LED emitters produce between 65 to 85 lumens per watt.

The HMI bulbs produce 90 lumens per watt.

A colour temperature of 5300 Deg Kelvin, with a CRI of 94. The LEP bulbs generate light with a continuous colour spectrum; the LEP light output is almost identical to the natural spectrum.

LEP lamp spectrum goes way beyond that of the LED, which cuts off below 600 nm, the LEP goes way beyond this so pinks, reds and oranges render well with the LEP light source. Colours not only appear more natural and vibrant they reproduce more accurately.

As the LEP has no filament or electrode to burn out, it will keep producing light beyond the 20,000 hours. HMI bulbs have a lamp life of 500 to 750 hours. If the colour temperature changes after an extended lamp life you can change the bulb easily.
